This Photo Safari will be a special one. It will consist of two phases and is only open to ten Photographers. This Photo Safari will occur May 30th, 2015
We will Photograph an outstanding model in an outdoor environment using both existing light and studio lighting mixed with the ambient lighting. Instruction will also be given for using both on camera flash and the flash off camera mixed with ambient lighting. The setting will offer multiple opportunities to Photograph the model with the goal of creating fine art portraiture. There will be plenty of time for each individual photographer to direct the model and capture their own vision, which will also offer a learning opportunity to the other photographers in attendance. All instruction and support will be given by myself. Attendees will get many images for their portfolios in addition to expanding their minds to the breaking point. There will be a total of 8 hours instruction, including an exhibition on proper makeup for the shoot. Participants should be prepared for a ten hour day including breaks.
I have had many, many requests for "Garrett, I just wanna watch you work"... well this will show you all that I go through for a shoot like this and place you in the drivers seat. Your mind will be totally saturated, and your souls filled with the joy of a very technical shoot.
The models point of view... how to make her comfortable and obtain the most out of your session. What a model goes through to prepare for the shoot. Her relationship with the Photographer, and her needs in order to give the best presentation possible. What's going through her mind, in order to do her job, and how to assist her with that.
All attendees must be able to quickly manipulate their own cameras. You must know how to change ISO, Program Modes from Aperture Priority to Manual and beyond, Shutter Speed and F stops. All attendees must be able to see their cameras! We will not have time to wait for your vanity to catch up, so bring your proper glasses. Your camera should be a DSLR and a good lens to use will be a 24-70. You may bring other lenses. A decent on camera flash is good to bring, however if you do not have one studio strobes will be on site, so no big deal.
Fee's for this shoot will be $125.00 per person.
The location for this shoot will only be given to the attendees after their paid RSVP. The location will be divulged based upon weather conditions one day prior to the shoot. This Safari will go no matter the weather. In a pro situation this is standard protocol. The fee includes all lighting and equipment, model fee's, professional make-up, wardrobe design, and instruction. There will be no reason to tip the model like in other sessions offered in the valley.
The model is a classically trained dancer with outstanding skin, complexion, and muscle tone. She is also completely free of any body art. (rare now-a-days)
Participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks and a sack lunch, along with any special individual requirements you might have. Water and drinks will be present, but feel free to bring your own too.
