I really do not know exactly why this is important, however, I get a lot of requests to know what equipment I use. This could be because people wish to make sure that I am serious in my work and I have invested heavily in all aspects of photography.
It can also be that a client wishes to know that I have any and all equipment necessary to get the job done. (don't tell them it's not about the gear though)
Also, I am followed by several Photographers World Wide and have taught over 1800 seminars on Photography. Those fellow photographers wish to know what I shoot with so they can ask me for equipment recommendations.
Whatever the case may be, I decided to list my equipment here so I can link to it the next time a request is made.
As of 2004, I went completely digital. I still own an extensive list of film cameras, however, the digital revolution was upon me.
As you will see below I have a fully equipped studio and can take that studio almost anywhere.
I am a registered Nikon Professional
Update! Starting in May of 2018 I actually looked at all the gear I had and started Rev-Gas. That's short for Reverse Gear Acquisition Syndrome.
There's not one assignment I can not complete with my current gear set, and if I actually need something I don't have, it's easily rented saving my clients money since they are no longer having to pay depreciation on stored specialized equipment. I finally got smart. Hollywood has been doing this for years. There's not one film studio that owns their own camera equipment to film a movie. They all rent it. Anything in the list below with a strike-through has gone through Rev-Gas.
