Many Photographers now a days go online and ask "Hey ya'll, what about this or that location? What should I do to Photograph it?" I personally dislike that approach. Number one, I think it's wrong. You're the Photographer, go do your own research. Number two, no matter what it's your Photograph. Asking others what they did means you get what they get. And number three? How are we supposed to set ourselves apart in the bazillions of images out there now a days, if we simply do what others did. So do your own research! It's part of the journey.
This image is my key location I was scouting in Southern California. The tide was wrong, the sky boring. But man... The light I can see here for a future shot is amaze balls! Part of a being a Photographer serious about creating a Photograph over a snapshot is doing your own research. So this time my wife was my assistant. I was scouting this area for a future composition, which I now can't wait to create. This is the snap shot. Now to do my research for proper tide, timing and sky, and then hit this spot again!
